Lessons at secondary level will commence in 2016/17, when we welcome our first year 5 students. Our concept of secondary education is also attractive to children from other primary schools. We are guided by the following principles:
The character of our school is defined by a cosmopolitan attitude, teachers from many different countries and an inspiring, international curriculum. As in most schools around the world, our students continue to learn together after primary school. In addition to the Abitur, high-attaining students can gain an international qualification (Advanced Placement).
German and English share an equal status both inside and outside the classroom. At secondary level, around half of the lessons are delivered in English.
Abitur – the highest qualification
Teaching in all subjects always takes place at Gymnasium level. The upper school (sixth form), in which students prepare for the Abitur examinations, is a key aspect of the school concept.
Modern foreign languages and STEM specialisation
The school curriculum focuses mainly on modern foreign languages (English, Spanish and French) and STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
We approach learning from the perspective of children and young people and aim to give them the tools they need to achieve success in life.
