Well-equipped specialist rooms

Educational research has long shown that learning spaces play a vital role in how students learn. That’s why each area of the JSS college building has been carefully designed to reflect the subject it hosts – creating an inspiring and focused environment for every lesson.

 

Our science wing includes three modern laboratories and one advanced lab designed to university standards. Here, pupils can carry out complex experiments and work on long-term research projects – gaining hands-on experience that bridges the gap between school and higher education.

Self-directed learning

In the upper secondary school, academic success depends on self-discipline, independent revision and active engagement with learning content. To support this, we offer dedicated quiet zones within the college for focused individual study.

 

These carefully designed workspaces allow students to prepare for lessons, complete assignments or work on extended projects in a calm and structured environment. A flexible desk-sharing model ensures that all students have access to well-equipped study areas when they need them.

Creativity and collaboration

Group work and open dialogue are essential for both academic learning and future careers. That’s why our college building features designated team work spaces on every floor. These collaborative areas encourage students to share ideas, solve problems together and develop communication skills.

 

Furnished with high-quality equipment and digital tools, the team work spaces can be used during lessons, for project work or in the afternoon – making them a lively hub of creativity and connection.

Career Coaching

In today’s world, academic achievement alone is no longer enough. Skills like communication, teamwork, resilience and leadership play a vital role in shaping a successful future.

 

That’s why our dedicated Career Coach supports students throughout their time at college – helping them identify their strengths, explore career options and build key competencies for life beyond school. Whether it’s through one-on-one guidance, workshops or practical tools, we help each student move forward with confidence and clarity.

Digital school

All our classrooms are equipped with Wi-Fi and one or more SMART Boards. Each year group also has access to several class sets of laptops and tablets.

 

Alongside classroom teaching, we use the MS Teams learning platform to make learning materials accessible to all students and to facilitate communication between teachers, students and parents.

 

This comprehensive integration of digital tools has earned us official recognition as a “Digitale Schule” (Digital School).

Our diverse club programme

Our wide range of clubs gives students the chance to explore and develop their strengths and talents beyond the classroom. We design these afternoon activities flexibly, based on the interests and needs of the young people – always guided by the question: “What will they need for the future?”

 

Led by our teachers and educational team, the clubs cover everything from music and the arts to lesser-known languages and a variety of sports.

 

Students can choose from a new selection of clubs each semester, allowing them to build a broad set of soft skills over time. We also partner with music schools, sports clubs and other external providers to continuously expand our offering.
