Registration and
admission procedure

Every child is warmly welcome at our bilingual primary school – whether they are starting in year 1 or joining an existing class later on. Even during the school year, we are happy to check whether a place is available. We look forward to welcoming your child into our school community and supporting them individually on their educational journey.

Our admission procedure
in detail

Online registration

Please complete our registration form online – conveniently and without obligation. You will receive a confirmation of receipt. We will then contact you in the spring before the desired start date with further information about the admission process.

Getting to know each other & trial day

Each child takes part in an age-appropriate admissions process that allows us to get to know them and assess whether our educational approach is the right fit. When inviting children to an introductory day at our primary school, we consider criteria such as siblings already at the school, diversity and the date of registration.

During this day, the children complete playful tasks, meet peers and get to know the bilingual learning environment. You as parents will receive key information in an online presentation and take part in a virtual meeting with a member of our admissions team.

Our offer to you

Following the trial days, we take a joint pedagogical view to determine whether our primary school is a good fit for your child’s needs. If we are able to offer your child a place and you accept it, you will receive the digital contract documents. Once everything is signed, we look forward to welcoming you and your child to the start of school in Baden-Württemberg.

If you’re interested in joining during the school year, we’re happy to check availability.«

Parental contributions
for our primary school

  • Parental contribution

We aim to make our educational offering accessible to as many children as possible. For this reason, we use a model of income-based parental contributions.

The monthly contribution is calculated based on the family’s total annual income.

  • Profile contribution

The profile contribution supports the bilingual profile of the school. It enables extended learning opportunities beyond the timetable, assistant teacher support, individual coaching, talent programmes and the work of our school coaches.

  • After-school / holiday programme and school meals

Our all-day programme includes optional services such as supervised afternoon care, exciting holiday activities, and freshly prepared meals – all designed to support families and enrich the school day.

  • Materials

At the beginning of each school year, there is a materials contribution of €90.

  • Excursion package

At the start of each reception or school year, we charge a flat excursion fee of €60.

  • Administration fee

A one-time administration fee of €200 is for new admissions to Josef-Schwarz-Schule.

This fee is not charged again when changing between school branches.

  • Tax deductibility

Information on the tax deductibility of childcare costs for parents can be found ►here.
All information is subject to change.
